When the names of the triplets came up into the registry along with Draco and Remus' name, everything was soon kicked into even higher gear, mainly thanks to Lucius who was bent to kill the cursed being who had impregnated his son. Things got worst as the DEs and the Ministry fortified their search, but so far they have yet to locate the quartet's hideout.
It remained for a while until Harry was soon of age and was ready to do battle with Voldemort. Draco, despite Remus' refusal, insisted in joining in on the fight, and both mothers went down to the Muggle world to get in contact with Arabella Figg to ask her to take care of their children while they go out to war. Remus also decided to join the war as well both to help Harry out and also to keep an eye on Draco and keep him safe.
Harry did not receive the well-earned welcome when he made his official appearance into the public. Many of those whom Harry thought were friends--including Hermione and Ron--were angry and ungrateful that he showed up, blaming him for deserting them when they needed him the most and causing all this grief towards them. Harry knew not any amount of explaining himself would do justice to what they were feeling towards him, so he just took everything in, had Severus, Remus and Draco by his side and went to face the dangers together.
The battle was a fierce one. Many casualties, many injuries, many irreparable damage and most of all, many lives were lost, but they won the war and Voldemort was successfully six feet under. Remus, Draco and Severus barely made it alive from the fight, but Harry, because of his link with Voldemort, when the Dark Lord died, part of his soul that was fused with Harry's own was gone too, turning the poor young boy catatonic and unresponsive.
The Ministry were rooted out of everyone crooked and corrupt, including Lucius and other officials who were highly involved in the DEs under the table, and those who were undercover DEs in the Ministry. Kingsley took over as the new Minister of Magic and made his relationship with Neville public, and the first thing he did as the Minister was to acknowledge the true heroism of Harry and his gang despite the lack of enthusiasm of those who held a grudge against Harry's deserter act.
The other thing he did was to lift the ban off werewolves and acknowledged them as human beings and not cursed ones, so Remus and Draco's triplets were safe, along with other wolf-human couples who had been in hiding. As Lucius was behind bars and Narcissa's sudden disappearance from the face of the earth, probably due to her already tainted reputation as a DE's wife, Draco ultimately inherited the Malfoy fortune and Remus married him and moved in with him to stay with him till the end of their days, in which he sired 3 more children with Draco: a pair of twins named Elyssa Drake and Elijah Drago Lupin and a boy named Terrence Lye Lupin (a rare occurence to have a single birth, but good news for Draco).
Severus quit his job at Hogwarts and went on to open his own apothecary, taking care of the catatonic Harry for the next few years, meeting his every needs. He continued to remain unresponsive to Severus' stimulants and whatnot, but the older man would not give up on him nor leave him. One night, out of desperation to make him snap out of it, he made love to him and somehow accidentally knocking him up. He had considered abortion due to Harry's state, but it was Aleah who convince him otherwise, saying that regardless Harry's state, he shouldn't kill an innocent life. Thus both Severus and Aleah joined hand in hand to help with the catatonic Harry with his pregnancy.
Then one day, when Harry was about 5 months pregnant and Severus was helping him to bathe, the older man felt the baby's first kick, smiled and saw Harry's eyes blinked, gaining response and turned to look up at him, uttering his first words after 5 years of silence.
"Severus...?"
The older man felt as if he just died and went to heaven.
