Edge of Reason-A Marauders RP (Part 3)

Severus was getting some new potions stuff and almost dropped from glass vials.

Lucius: *was scouring ard wen he saw Severus n saw him dropping glass vials. With a flick of his wand, he caught them all n levitated them bk in plc* Better be careful there, young 'un. They're quite priceless

"Sorry." he looked up. "I couldn't get my wand out." he blushed when he saw Lucius. He looked down again.

Lucius: New here in Kromagg? I'm Lucius. Lucius Malfoy. *held out his hand to shake* 2nd year

Severus sat his things down. "Severus Snape. First year. I was just trying to get all of my supples."

Lucius: Can I see ur schedule? I might be able to help out

Severus took it out and handed it to him. There was ton in the way of potions needs.

Lucius: *looks at the schedule n the list* Ah, looks like ur majoring something similar as mine. C'mon, I knw where u can get these at a fraction of a price

"Really?" He asked. "So I don't need any of this?" he asked looking down at what he had already gotten.

Lucius: Have u paid for them yet? If u havent then u can just put them bk where u took it. I knw a plc where u can get the same thing at the same quality, only cheaper

"No. I haven't." Severus put them back quickly.

Lucius: Good *led him to a mini-store within the campus tht had a sign tht says "Second-Hand Wonders"* Oi, Crabbe! Goyle! How's business doin'?

Crabbe: Almost boomin', Luc. Ah, who's this fresh meat here?

Lucius: Now, now, be nice. This here is first year Severus Snape *hands them the list* Get him whtever he needs

Goyle took the list and smiled then went to the back to gather all the items.

"I can't thank you enough, Lucius." That name doaned on him but even move the Malfoy. "Do you know a Sirius Black?" He asked.

Lucius: *blinked n grimaced* Ah, Black. Yes, I do knw of him. His family n mine hv been business partners since the dawn of Merlin. I'm currently dating his cousin. Wht abt him?

"He is my dorm mate. He said something about you name earlier but didn't finish." He lied. "Your second year, you say. Are you taking DADA IV?"

Lucius: Yes, most definitely. *thanked Goyle as the things were all prepared for Sev* DADA is one of my favourite subjects. Nvr seen u ard. Ur not frm Hogwarts, are u?

"I was..homeschool." He said, then started to get out the money. "How much."

Crabbe: *noted the price, which Lucius was right, a big fraction of the price Sev saw at the other store*

Lucius: *grins* Wht did I tell ya, eh?

Severus nodded and handed the money over. "Yes. How can I ever thank you."

Lucius: Well, if u dont mind me being a little forward, I'd like u join a little mixer we're having. We always like to volunteer to invite the young 'uns to start off their first night as Kromaggs. Wanna come?

"Sure." his eyes brighten up. "Can I bring a friend?" He asked.

Lucius: Sure. Bring as many friends as u like. The more the merrier. *escorted Sev out of the store n gave him a map to the venue* Dress casual. I'll be seeing u then *waved n left*

Severus felt like he was on cloud nine. he hurried back to the door and sat this things down then looked at his wordrobe. There was nothing even remotily nice looking. For once in his life he needed to do shopping.

Remus: *has returned frm eating with Sirius (though he didnt eat much) n saw Sev fumbling thru his clothes* Woah, hey, where's the fire, Severus?

"This guy, Lucius invited me to a mixer. But I don't have anything to wear." He sighed.

Remus: *chuckled* Well, arent u being popular today? Wht did he say the dress code was?

"Casul. Does this look casual." he asked holding up a black pair of pants and a white button up shirt.

Remus: I think it looks casual enough. At least urs look better than my sad excuse for a casual wear *showed him his own clothes, which were mostly hand-me-dwns n secondhand clothes, some of them patched up*

"These looked bad before I came. I did some minding spells. The only magic my Father will allow." He sat on the bed. "Mind if I ask you something?"

Remus: *sat dwn* Sure. Fire away

"Is..." He blushed a bit. "Promise you won't laugh..." He bit his lip. "Does Sirius fancy blokes?"

Remus: *blinks for a moment, then snorted* S...Sorry... *cleared his throat* Well, he's known to date a few, bt he's not one to date those just by their looks alone

Severus nodded. "Does he date rich ones?"

Remus: Some of them are, bt most of them r a run in the mill, ppl like me

Severus nodded. "Would you guys like to some with me to the mixer? He said the more the merrier."

Remus: Sure, I'd love to! Get to knw ppl is one of my favourite past times *stuck his head out of the window n yelled at James' room* Yo! Prongs! Paddy! We're goin' to a mixer! Wanna come?!

"Hell yes. When is it? I need to get some duds together." James yelled back.

Sirius: Count me in as well, Moons!

Remus: It's tonight! At the *looks at the map* At the Kromagg frat boys arena!

"Even sweeter!"

Severus smiled. He could try to empress Sirius.

Remus: Dress code casual, guys! The mixer starts at 7-ish!

Sirius: Will do, Moons! Thanks, man!

"Why do they call you Moons and Moony?" Severus asked.

Remus: *chuckles* It's a sort of pet name we gave each other based on our Animagus. We were known bk in Hogwarts as the Marauders coz we're always together marauding abt causing mischief. I'm Moony, James is Prongs and Sirius is Padfoot. We hv another member who goes by the name Wormtail, bt sadly he was sent to Titan's Apprenticeship, or he would've been with us

"Oh." So they were missing a friend. "That sound nice that you all are such good friends."

Remus: We've been together since 1st yr n all, so yeah, u can say we're pretty close

"I can see why James dose not like me. He doesn't want the group to be messed up."

Remus: Oh, dont worry abt him. Once he made more friends ard the area, he'll get ovr it. He is the most adaptable of all of us combined. Fit right in at Hogwarts the moment he set foot into the Express

Severus nodded. "Who is this Lily? I knew a Lily once. Living around the block from me."

Remus: Reli? Is she the same Lily Evans tht James is currently dating? *although it somehow left a bad taste in his mouth saying tht, he didnt knw why*

"Yes! I knew her when we were kids before she moved. How is she?"

Remus: Wonderful. Doing well in fact, probably enjoying college life in Merlin's Academy. Her sister still see us as the scum of earth evn aftr all these years tho *chuckled*

"Yes. I know. I scared her a few times as a child." he chuckled. "I haven't seen her since she was nine."

Remus: U did? Wht did u do, if u dont mind telling me?

"I didn't mean to but she made me angry so I made a tree root move to knock her down."

Remus: She can be rather pesky sometimes. Sirius had a few close calls with her, n the last time she insulted Lily, James grew earwigs out of her hair *laughs* Not a nice thing to do, bt serves her right

"Yes." He chuckled. "Remus, what are you? Blood wise."

Remus: I'm pureblood. Born frm both parents, bt a little something more

"Are Sirius and James pureblood too?"

Remus: Yes, they are. In fact, Sirius is descended directly frm the Ancient House of Black

"What is this house of Black? Is is so important."

Remus: They're quite important, reli, along with the Malfoy family. They're known to be the only purebloods in the wizarding world n more or less controls much of the goings-on of the Ministry. U can say they're powerful enough to own the Ministry

"Wow." And here Severus thought he had a chance with Sirius. But all he was was a lowly half-blood with wizard hating father.

Remus: *grins mischievously* Wht's with the sudden interest in Siri? R we having love at first sight here?

"Don't be silly." he got up and starting putting his supples away. "I am just wanting to get to know my room mates."

Remus: Right~ *looks at him knowingly before returning to his clothes* Hmm, let's see, wht should I wear for the mixer...?

"I don't know." he shugged. Sirius was way out of his league. He was sophisticated, rich, popular. Everything Severus was not.

Remus: *looked for a moment before deciding on a pair of Muggle jeans and white with black sleeves n collar T-shirt* Hm, I guess this will do as casual for now

"Yeah, you will look nice." Severus nodded. "I am going to take a quick showe." He grabbed up his clothes, toletris and a towel and started for the bathroom.

Remus: I'm nxt! *laid the clothes to prepare them for tonight then went ovr to James' n Siri's dorm* Yo, guys, watcha gonna wear for the mixer tonight?

"My red shirt with the muggle band on it and muggle jeans. I wonder if they will have birds there."

Remus: Birds? *not vry familiar with Muggle terms*

Sirius: I'm going with my black vest n khaki cargo pants. Wht r u going with?

Remus: *showed them his clothes*

"Muggle term for girls." James chuckled.

Severus came by, a towel wraped around him. "Remus can I borrow some shapoo. I left my at home and I don't have the ingrediants to make more."

Sirius: *saw Sev half-naked with his towel on made his blood pressure on his face rise* G-uh! *look away, pressing his nose*

Remus: Sure, go to my suitcase. I think I kept it there. *raised a brow* Wht's with u, Paddy?

"Thanks." Severus went and got it and went back to the bathroom.

"Sirius likes a certain bat boy." he said after he heard the door to the bathroom close.

Remus: Ah, interesting *rubs his chin as he looked at Sirius knowingly, piecing the puzzle together btwn them*

Sirius: Shut up, Moons *speaking while still pinching his nose*

"I told him he could do better, even you would be better."

Remus: *blushed a little* No way. I cant be with Paddy. My...heart already belongs to someone else *looks away*

Sirius: *glared at James* Oh? N who might tht be?

Remus: Its called "None of ur business"

"Come on. We never had secrects." James leaned back on the bed.

Remus: Well, its abt time we hv one. Its not like we cant hv any *blushing vry hard now*

A few minutes later Severus came out his hair wet and sticking to his head, and he was in the plain white button up shirt and black pants. "Your turned, Remus." he handed him the shampoo.

Remus: Alright thanks *quickly went away before the others could badger him for other questions*

Sirius: *odd out by this, bt smiled at Sev* Hey Severus. Ur gonna need a bit of a drying for tht hair. Nice clothes, btw

"My hair dries quick." He said, blushing and looking at his clothes. "Thank you. What are going to wear?"

"I need air." James got up and walked out of the door.

"Does he really hate me that much?"

Sirius: Dont mind him. He's just a little testy at times. New environment n all. He'll fit right in soon enough. Here *showed him his clothes* Want me to put it on now?

"Uh, sure." He said. "Want me to step out for a moment?"

Sirius: Naw, s'ok. I'll change in the bathroom. *goes into the bathroom to change*

Severus waited and went in and sat on the bed. He noticed the mirror and tired to make his hair look good.

Sirius: *soon came out dressed in wht he planned to wear for the mixer*

"Wow you look really nice. Makes mine look so plain."

Sirius: Oh, dont be silly. U look wonderful in it. It matches ur eyes *moves a stray fringe frm Sev's face*

Severus licked his lips and blushed. "Thanks."

Sirius: Sides, my clothes r secondhand frm my brother Reggie. I often get hand-me-dwns. U'd think ur parents can afford to get u new clothes, bt no~ they had to be a bloody miser

"Lucky. I never got my sister hand me downs. I think it would hav e pissed my father off to see me in a dress...then again. I should."

Sirius: *laughs* Probably. The joys of seeing the parents fret ovr our antics, eh?

"No. Just pissing him off. It would be my highligth."

Sirius: *chuckles* Got a personal beef with ur old man, eh?

"Yes." He moved away to the window. "When he tells you since you can remember that you are a disgrace. A freak. Just because you take after your mother."

Sirius: Wait a minute, u mean ur a half-blood?

He nodded. "My mums a Prince. Pretty high muckity muck family. They disowned her when she married a muggle man."

Sirius: Prince...Prince...Ah, I think I knw tht family. Dang, tht's a little harsh, isnt it? Tho its nothing new to my family. They've done tht to a few of my other relatives now. I think its stupid to be such a Neo-Nazi abt bloodlines n whtnot*

"Yeah. My Grandfather decided that he will take pity on his only grandson. He wants me to a be his heir since my ucle drank himself to death. He could careless that my mother has to put up with a heartless shit head that beats her over the littlest thing. Or a granddaughter that married at the age of 15 to a shit head that beats her. God." He put his head in his hands. "Sorry. You don't need to know any of this."

Sirius: Man, u had it rough. S'ok, Severus, u need the release anyways *puts his arms ard his shoulder* I'm here for ya whenever u need to vent. Ur our new found friend aftr all. 'Sides my family isnt exactly a walk in the park either

Severus sighed and turned to Sirius. "Thank you. I need that."

Sirius: No big. *sees the time* Goodness, its almost time for the mixer. Yo, Moons! U done yet? Where's Prongs?

Remus: *calls out* I'm changing! I'll be out soon. I think James is out there hitting on someone's sister

"Sirius...would you...be around if I need to talk again?" He didn't let Sirius answer and went from the room to his room with Remus.

Sirius: *blinked as Sev walked away before he could answer, bt shrugged n walked out to chk on James* I'll be with Prongs, Moons. Cya in a bit

Remus: K, we'll meet ya there *sees Sev come in* All set to go, Severus? *doing his hair*

"Yeah." He nodded, getting his wand.

"Oh come baby." he groaned as the girl walked away. "Damn."

Sirius: Prongs, r u hitting one someone's sister AGAIN? Lily's gonna kill u if she finds out

"She broke up with me that last night of school. She didn't feel we were going anywhere." He sighed.

Sirius: Wht?! N u tell me like now?! Wht do u mean ur not going anywhere?

"The relationship. I wanted to take it to the next step she didn't."

Sirius: Wht in the world...? Why would she wanna do tht? I thought u guys r going steady to the point where marriage is inevitable, in ur own words, tht is?

"I preposed to her and she told me no. She said she didn't want to be tied down at his point in her life. She wanted to explore." he hit the door frame. "Damn it. I loved her and I thought she loved me. We are not two young to get engaged."

Sirius: Man, tht's wht u get for having a high-strung, will-minded woman for a date. Sorry for ur loss, man *pats his bk, then sees Remus n Severus comin'* Yo! Moons! Guess wht! Prongs just got axed by Lil!

Remus: Wht? Lily dumped u? Tht's crazy!

"She wants to explore life. Can we just go." He headed down the stairs. "I found out that girls will be here. There is woman's college a few miles away."
